Voor onze dochters was de keuze makkelijk. Het werd de vintage rotan wieg waar ik zelf in heb gelegen. Een DIY touch van oma en daar stond de prachtige wieg met veel emotionele waarde. Voor Mies & Co ben ik vanuit het merkgevoel op zoek naar een minimalistische wieg met toch een warme uitstraling. Maar waar te beginnen? Voor zo’n wieg hoef je niet naar de babydump te gaan.
Op Pinterest ben ik hele mooie wiegen tegengekomen zoals de bedjes van Flexa en Sebra. Allebei Deense design met een prachtig handschrift.
Echt prachtige items voor in een baby of peuterslaapkamer. Een veel goedkopere, maar ook hele leuke optie is de kartonnen wieg van Green Lullaby. Deze wieg ziet er heel leuk uit en is echt weer eens wat anders. Daarnaast is hij makkelijk te verplaatsen en dus ook heel handig als je baby’tje pasgeboren is.
Verder struinend ging mijn vintage hart echt harder kloppen toen ik de wiegjes van Kifkef tegenkwam. Zeg maar gewoon smoorverliefd! De combinatie van design en een verhaal achter een meubelstuk dat vind ik echt prachtig.
Nu heb ik laatst op een tweede hands markt een schommelwieg gekocht en die heel netjes op zolder in een hoek gezet….. Misschien toch maar de mouwen op stropen en gaan verven. Of…. Iemand heel lief gaan aankijken. Iemand? Vrijwilliger ??

For our daughters the choice was easy. It became the vintage rattan crib which was used when I was born. With a DIY touch of my mum a new crib with a lot of emotional memories was born. For Mies & Co I am looking for an minimalistic crib with a warm touch. But where to start? You won’t find such a crib a the cheap baby department stores.
On Pinterest I found beautiful cribs like the one from Flexa and Sebra. Both beautiful Danish design brands with a beautiful handwriting. Truly beautiful items for a baby or toddler bedroom. A much cheaper crib I found is the cardboard crib from Green Lullaby. This crib looks very cute and is just something else. After more strolling on the internet my true vintage heart was beating faster when I found the cribs of Kifkef. Let’s say I fell in love J. The combination of design and a real story behind a piece of furniture just makes me smile.
As it occurs a few weeks I bought a vintage crib on a flew market. But I have putted in a corner with the hope it will paint it self ...... So maybe I will have to get myself ready and just do the job. Or find somebody who can help me. Anyone? Volunteer?
